The cup of coffee that began my day:
Una tazza is the cup; il caffe is the coffee. The coffee is one of the things I'm really looking forward to in Italy and, in training for *real* coffee, I ordered my first macchiato on the weekend - an espresso with a dash of milk (and when they say a dash, that's all they mean). The general rule is milky coffee (like il cappuccino*) for breakfast, and *serious* coffee at other times of the day. I'm working up to espresso!
* Apparently, cappuccino gets its name from its colour, which resembled the colour of the robes of the Capuchin monks. I'd love to see their crypt, but not sure if it would freak Miss Tizz out too much.
