Bargain!

I've just booked two Super Economy tickets from Venice to Rome on the Trenitalia Frecciargento service (the silver train on the left - the name means 'Silver Arrow'). They travel up to 200 km/hr - fast, but not as fast as the Frecciarosso ('Red Arrow') trains, which can go up to 300 km/hr. By booking well in advance, I've been able to secure the tickets for just 9 euro each - bargain! You just need to be aware with these cheap tickets that they can't be changed or refunded for any reason. Our travel date is fixed, and 18 euro isn't too huge a risk anyway, so I'm very happy with it.
