life lesson

'She' is safely packed away for now :)

I think one of the lessons I need to learn is to let go a little more. I don't have to be in control all the time. It's ok to go with the flow, be prepared to change plans at the last minute, and just give in if I'm clearly fighting a losing battle. I tend to rebel against being told what to do, and against routine, but I like to organise others (mostly my family). And then I'm surprised and react badly when they don't necessarily want to do what they're told. It shouldn't really be so surprising though. I guess that's one of the tough things about being a parent - your children inherit many of your characteristics, and often two (or more) people with the same character traits in the same household can create a lot of tension.

You'd think I would have figured it all out after 44 years, but no - life is still full of 'a-ha!' moments. And of course, that's what makes it interesting.
