The French language pack turned up in today's mail, so we're set to go with some serious language learning :)
I have a cold at the moment - one of those damp, scratchy, sneezy change-of-season colds that leave you feeling out of sorts but that aren't bad enough to garner much sympathy. So I've soldiered on - some work, some washing, some organising costumes for a special day at school tomorrow, some scrubbing burnt soapnuts from a saucepan ... oops! Was inspired to boil some soapnuts to make a soapnut liquid for laundry and cleaning, and being in another room with my sense of smell somewhat impaired, I didn't realise the darn thing had boiled dry. What a mess! But it scrubbed off reasonably easily after soaking, and I'll try again either tomorrow or on the weekend, paying more attention.
There is a big plus to this cold though. Cooking is not up there on my list of favourite pastimes, and I was supposed to bake something for the kindergarten cake stall tomorrow, but I figure with all the germs I'm currently coughing and sneezing out I would be doing them a big favour by not making something. So tomorrow morning we're going to school via the local bakery ...
