trip update

I currently have just over $7000 in the travel account (a high interest ING account linked to my savings account with one of the Big 4 - I can access the money within a day or two, but it's not immediate, which makes saving a little easier).

I have paid for the airfares from Sydney to London, and Rome to Sydney on my credit card (a little over $3100), so I get free travel insurance. I've just transferred $900 from another account into the credit card, and will make sure the rest is paid in before I'm charged any interest.

Still to pay:
  • Passports x 2 (mine expired a while ago, so we both need them)
  • Accommodation - London (I have made an enquiry about a particular apartment in the Southwark/London Bridge area - approx $2200)
  • Eurostar London-Paris
  • Accommodation - Paris
  • Artesia overnight train Paris-Rome
  • Accommodation - Rome
Then there's local transport passes/tickets, entry fees, food and sundry expenses. We're not planning on a lot of (non-food) shopping, but I'm sure there'll be something ...

So I'd better get back to work ...
