January was all about change - even if some references to change were a bit obscure.
February's theme is gratitude - because I need to remember that no matter how tough things seem, I have a lot for which I am grateful.
The last few days have been a little tough - I've been cranky and frustrated and concentration is difficult - but I have friends who know what I'm like and have been in contact, and I'm very grateful that they're part of my life (even if I do go and hide for days at a time).
I'm grateful that the children are going back to school tomorrow - but not in a 'I can't wait until they're out of my hair' type way. More that they both like school and they'll be able to catch up with all their friends, and I'll be able to focus on work while the house is a little quieter. We all like school holidays, but I find it difficult as it seems I'm not giving proper attention to work or family. That's something I need to sort out, and the schedule I mentioned a few days ago might help me work it out (well, it would if I'd actually drawn anything up - I'll add it to the list).
I'm grateful that all the school books are covered and packed up ready for tomorrow. All the stationery items are labelled and ready to go. And I have a stock of easy-to-throw-together lunch items on hand for the morning.
I'm grateful that the husband volunteered (!) to take the kids to Questacon (science museum) on the last day of their holidays, so they had a great time, and I had a chance to get some jobs done here.
And there are plenty more where they came from ...
