Yes - I'm still keen to travel next year. I had a lovely time with my parents here, even if it was over far too quickly. And then came a phone call this afternoon with the devastating news that a friend had suddenly and unexpectedly lost her husband. They have four children, ranging from 3 to about 13, and I'm just shattered for them all.
My inner Pollyanna, who rarely lets me down, has completely deserted me. I can't see anything good in this.
It's been an incredibly sad year - so much loss and pain for four families I know personally. I can't even imagine what they're going through on this journey no-one can take for them.
