christmas food

Continuing on the theme ...

The husband has organised who's bringing what for Christmas day. A few phone calls backwards and forwards between him, his brother and his mother has resulted in a list, and everyone knows what they're doing.

We're sticking with pre-cooked and cold foods this year - if the weather lately is any indication, it will be quite warm, and heating up the house with the oven holds little appeal. So in three different households the day before, there will be turkey roasting, pork crackling, a ham being prepared, and pre-ordered prawns collected.

We'll be eating green salad, rice salad, potato salad and crispy noodle salad. And there'll be pudding and brandy custard and ice cream for dessert.

I'm sure there'll be homemade pink sugared peanuts, and chocolate, and other snacks, just in case anyone has any space left. And we'll all try to get out of taking home the leftovers.

Toasted ham sandwiches for dinner anyone?
